So let me get this straight so that I fully understand. There's a bunch of AMT's(apparently enough to prevent us from obtaining the percentage we must have to get our argument heard for class and craft designation) that are hung up on a technicality that the card they are being asked to sign has the name "Teamsters" on it.........so they refuse to sign one at all?

Here I must say "Excuses are like assholes, everybody has one but some are just bigger than others"!

Yet all the outrageous SHIT being perpetrated by our upper level management on our work group(Sr. Mgmt up to SVP) doesn't compel them enough to finally stand up and say "I'm sick and tired; of being sick and tired of the takeaways, disrespect and the changing the rules of the game to ensure THEY WIN, continuing to suppress us"??

Have you not heard/learned that there is STRENGTH IN NUMBERS?

That ignorance of thinking boggles my mind beyond comprehension!!!

See you cleaned the board up.

Yea it's like starting over I guess but just till september. I have never seen a group more willing to take losses on benefits and who complain the most not do anything about it. After 8 years of doing this I never heard more sorry excuses in one place. Every airline and our pilots are not losing anything because they stick together. Here I am trying to just get us in our own class and craft and they haven't got enough pride just for that. I can tell you I am so happy I have 2 years left till I retire. I feel for the guys who stepped up and wanted at least the chance to see what could become of this. I am just glad I would not have to go to war with the amt's of Fedex, surrender would be the outcome.

I'm right there with ya, my brother!

Tom, the new card looks super!

Most importantly, it gives control to the FedEx AMTs and not the IBT. This is how the pilots did it in the early 90's.

Lots of guys here in Memphis and elsewhere did not sign up initially because they thought they were signing over a blank check to the Teamsters if they signed the Teamsters card.

We need to get the word out there that there has been a re-boot!!!!

More shit is coming down the pike - don't know what our guys are thinking.

Should have done this from the beginning. Now hopefully more will sign cards.

The drive has been re-set and everyone who signed the previous Teamster card needs to sign one of the new FedEx AMT Association cards just placed on this site. Those that frequent this site need to let guys know about the new card and tell other guys who were on the fence about this and get them on board.

These things don't happen overnight - just ask our very own pilots! Tom has done an admirable job getting this going. It is time now for others to join in and get this thing moving again.

Great work Tom. Let's keep this thing going.

Let's get this done guys!

We are behind you Perusi. You have been eerily correct on all of your predictions for some time now. We need the protection of a contract.

We must stick together and attract others to sign cards. The people that are fence sitter's do not need to be put down on this blog. We all understand your frustration, but remember that everyone needs to feel what it will be like when we are a strong UNION. Remember that each of us will be a member of a brotherhood that supports and protects each other!

What exactly do more of you feel will attract others, if what has been going on over the past 8+ years hasn't persuaded any more than approximately 500 out of 2400+ to sign any card thus far over the past year?

I'm amazed that it appears many people refused to sign a card because it had Teamsters on it. Yet it bothers them none in the least to sit and watch what this company/management does to us......and will continue to do, all in the name of profit!

I'm positive Tom would love to see his message getting through to many more before he is a stress free man in retirement, away from this ever changing place in two years!!

Those of us that have been around for as little as 10-15 years don't recognize it now from what it once was.......and without a contract like the pilots enjoy, you sure won't know it from it's current state today.

Anonymous said...

Anyone who needs to see what a contract can do for you only needs to look to our very own pilots who had the balls to organize themselves. They have the best pay and benefits of any pilot in the world, hands down. Things keep getting worse here for all of us - but just ask a pilot, they have thrived while we have been dying a slow a death.

It's not a difficult concept. We have been getting played, lied to and treated like shit for a while now. Time to get things moving with a new card and make it about us. The Teamsters can take all the cards that out amts sent in to them an shove them up their ass. We don't need them. The support is here!

Let's start moving the cards - get the word out that we are doing this like the pilots did. Please distribute new card manually to everyone you know. We have the right to distribute these cards in non working areas like break rooms, bathrooms, parking lots.

Sick and tired of the management beat downs, daily bs and crap insurance.

What really sucks is that we for once have a very labor friendly NMB and this from the beginning was just for class and craft. I am not a computer expert so I had to find a way to make our own card they just are not out there. If I would have know that just because the Teamsters name was on it that it would affect so many I would have changed it. I have a feeling it won't make a difference if nobody keeps talking about this and passing on to other amts' especially in Memphis and Indy. Most of the cards where from the Outstations. Lax could have had much more but they did great in my eyes. I need other outstations contacting one's around them and give them this site.
I want to tell you they know all the amt's are pissed but with all the hits on here they thought we would stick together on this and they were really worried. I hated to let the cat out of the bag but I had no choice but we will see if the new card without teamsters was a problem at all? I believe people are scared that the company will find out and they won't. I could not make out some of the printed names and we had to put them in order which is a lot of work. Please tell them to print their names clear so I can put them in alphabetical order. I can only hope I am not going to waste another year and a great chance for you guys.

What about the cards from Indy that were sent to teamsters instead of the po box did them get counted or did the teamsters keep them like we were told.

Anonymous said...

You're telling me that there cards from Indy that the Teamsters won't give us back or send to Tom.So how did we know the real count.

Anonymous said...

If this is a friendlier NMB then why do we need 50+1 rather than 30+1 as before.Just saying.

Unknown said...

I did get an email from Ted Perez that they received those Indy cards but it was after we only had 500 cards. I just wrote him to see if he still has them. I will let you know when he writes me back.I know those cards would be good for a while because they came to late for the first run.

It is not the NMB that make's the rules it's your congress. They already overturned the 2 pro labor members Obama put in there who are pro labor. They have 2 years from when they started which give us less time around 1 year at most. They said he put them in when they were not on a official break. look I am not a republican or a democrat I am a libertarian I guess. The facts are republicans hate labor groups because it messes with business in there eyes. the democrat's are suppose to be labor friendly but that is bullshit to because the senate held most of the seats in the senate but not enough to stop a republican filibuster. That is how the law we fought to change was shot down. Hell we could get the NMB to say we are in our own class and craft and Fedex can sue to overturn it. Politics is rotten and it's one sided and you may get lucky you have the right people in at the right time.
you don't have to be of any political affiliation to sign a card. All we are trying to do here is get class and craft designated because without that we can never move ahead or have any protection against change.

Sounds like the RDU AMTS . They want the benefits , but dont want to fight for them. What a bunch of losers .
