IT'S TIME. OUR TIME

UNITED WE BARGAIN DIVIDED WE BEG

I was asked by a fellow card signer did I see the billboards on the way in to work? I said heck I'm half asleep driving in at 4:15 am every morning. Today I remembered to look and there is was on both sides of the highway coming into work at the airport.
IT'S TIME with a silhouette of two pilots wearing their caps and then under it OUR TIME.
I can't tell you how I felt, was I happy for them that they stood together and have a way to command respect and get a contract that would insure their family's livelihood or upset. Upset because I know that the company will not have much choice coming to an agreement to make these guys who are already the top paid in their field more happy. Angry maybe knowing that if the company does not come to an agreement that they can easily walk the picket line and with that leaving us without a job to come to. Then it hit me, I was jealous and it has all those emotions all built into one. I was jealous that these guys are going to stay on the top pay and benefits in the airline while we have the worst benefit package in the industry.
Oh here is a 3% raise amt's now go away we have bigger fish to fry. Oh you don't like it? go cry somewhere else we can do what we want at any time we want. I laugh when I read the top 10 Q&A and see some of  the questions that are asked (I just did after a very long time about jcats)
Like you think they care or are going to really look into what your bitch is? They will answer of coarse but it's always what does policy say? oh we don't have one well we do now, because we choose to do it that way.
We deserve what we get and that is all I can say about that. A group of men and woman who job is to keep these sophisticated aircraft flying in the air not matter what time of day or night. A group of people that must not either believe that their jobs are important or are just chicken shit.
Did you get that mailer from FedEx about all the costs of insurance it pay's for medical, and life insurance and what not? I started adding up the numbers. Oh they look very big 29 million for this and another 16 million for that. Then I said let me do one simple thing. we have 2400 amt's and I know what I pay for a family so I will go on that average which came out to around $6000.00 a year you pay in Premiums x 2400 amt's (now that is only for medical and dental we also pay for our life insurance but did not calculate that. Just the AMT's is 14 million, 400 thousand dollars. then I took the pilots which their are much more than us. I think they have around 5,000 pilots I may be wrong lets go with 4000. 4000x the same premium is another 24 million dollars.  I figure roughly that 38 million dollars taken in just by the pilots and amt's. Now I only went with 4000 pilots Last time I seen they doubled our numbers so I am lowballing. If we cover 38 million dollars of the premiums which if you look at the numbers on the mailer is way more than they pay in premiums. That is not including the rest of the hundred of thousand's of employees we have to pay in.
How is it our medical can suck so bad? I am no accountant and I am using rough numbers but if I threw in our cost for the life insurance and that worthless lawyer assist insurance and other stuff we pay in where does it all go? Well I can tell you not to us but I can tell you it will go to the pilots because they have the education and the balls to fight for these things. We can't get enough people willing to just get class and craft so that we could call for a vote. Yes I said vote. those of you who won't sign a card I call un-American. This country was founded on a democratic way of electing our leaders and it is the way we get bills and laws passed. I have some guy in my shop who said it could lead to a union vote and I don't want a union anyway anyhow. I said you must be a communist or something, you don't want your fellow amt's to just have the right to vote for one and let the majority rule? your the worst FUGIM I know. I want you to know that unless we get class and craft passed by the NMB you may forget no matter what they take from you of ever being able to fight back. It won't happen and it can't because after 8 years I did learn a few things. I learned that without class and craft and unless you hire a public relations firm and can get in contact with every single employee except pilots then you may have a chance. I said this is my last time trying and after October 1st and the card count is in this blog will be either here or shutdown.
I will always be sorry I let the guys who do the real work here at fedex down. It is you guys who are upset because you know you do work hard and do the jobs the other's work harder at getting out of. It is you who have the expertise and get the jets out on time. You want change because you are pissed that you have to drag around these guys who some manager hired who could not fix his own wagon. I find the ones who don't want to sign don't want change, they like the way they can hide behind the ones who really work. I find it un-American to not want to let your fellow workers at least have the chance to voice their opinion on this. If the vote is no union by golly that is what the majority wants, if it's yes union then that stand's to. Right now you don't have even a voice or choice in it and if you think the taking away of benefits is over you are very mistaken my friends. Someone has to pay for the pilots contract!!
