More on our out sourced drivers

UNITED WE BARGAIN DIVIDED WE BEG

Fedex and its model on outsourced drivers

Between 2000 and 2007, FedEx Ground drivers in California were paid $85,000 to $90,000 a route, according to Ross. “That’s what a UPS driver earns in wages before the benefits package,” she said. “These drivers are left with $45,000, maybe $50,000, no health insurance, no retirement for working 55 plus hours a week.”

Tom,

This might not be completely relevant however I believe it is similar enough in nature to point it out.

Look at how we are now finding out that VENDORS are not obtaining the results our reliability numbers demand (i.e. Nashville, Cincinnati job postings)?

THEY DON'T WORK.....because they have no vested interest or pride to strive to seek 100% reliability! They are there to milk as much money out of FedEx for their company's bottom line.

The same thing goes for all the added job postings in stations that have lost NUMEROUS mechanics with almost NONE of them being replaced, up until the past few weeks! It reaches a point that you lose the ability to properly and safely work to clear MEL's when you refuse to replace lost manpower......trying to DEMAND MORE WITH LESS!!!

KUDOS to our management for finally waking up to this reality and posting these jobs!! Don't STOP YET as you have many other stations that still LACK adequate manpower to do the job RIGHT!!
