UNITED WE BARGAIN DIVIDED WE BEG

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMEN:

I had an AMT from up north come up with a very good idea.  Please send in all cards you may be holding and an announcement will be made within a few weeks.  I think we can still get this done, we have just got to get MEM, LAX and IND on board, and the rest of the Out Stations.  A lot of you guys/gals know at least 2 people that haven't been asked....Ask them, get a card, lets get it done, then we'll discuss a new path to making this happen.

For the 2 AMT's that were the instrumental in getting this new path going, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS.  Please contact me whenever you need anything.

Every other AMT/SAMT will be thanking you also.  I think this will work out just fine.

Yep

Good news. We will get this done.

Groups are out there in MEM, IND and LAX working cards and getting the word out to many more folks.

Everyone - please continue to communicate the need for this important employee initiative. This is VERY achievable if we all pitch in.

Very achievable.........and very simple solution.......fill out and sign a card......DONE DEAL! Then sit back and watch the company execs SQUIRM, knowing we have figured out their agenda, which is to continue gutting the benefits until there are none left?

Don't allow all the work that Tom, Randy and others have paved this path towards this goal to be wasted.....it is THE ONLY way we will regain all the respect we have lost for just how important the job we do truly is!!

Great news!

Hearing from pilots they will keep their platinum healthcare benes when their contract eventually settles (not to mention platinum pension, sky high wages, etc.).

It's funny how the new health care law and Cadillac tax the company told us so much about to justify their latest takeaway don't seem to have impacted our very own organized pilot's or UPS's organized employee's health plans. Asked my manager what gives and he said we all need some protection!!

What other lies and misinformation does the Company have planned for us? Don't know about you, but several of us admittedly now see the need for the protection a contract provides. Enough already! We deserve better, not to mention the truth.

Start signing guys. It's really that simple.

Let's make 2015 the year when we prove to this company, that we refuse to be disrespected any longer and demand a seat at the benefits discussion table! Happy New Years ladies and gentlemen.......Let's Do This!

Met with a bunch of folks here in MEM and had two very informative sessions while in LAX just before the holidays,

The environment is toxic in many parts of these locations and folks have had it.

Keep spreading the word.

Just in case you did not know our health plan sucks big time!

Best medical plan here in 2010 was a $250 individual deductible. It was only $36.92 a wk. That's right $36.92 It paid 90% of expenses.

2011 deductible went to $300 ind and $900 for family. Out of network family $1800 deductible.

2012 it had same $300 ind and 900 family in network but out of netork family went to $2400. The out of pocket max in 2012 was $2000 ind and $6000 family.

2013 deductible went to 500 ind and 1500 family.

2014 deductible $1200 ind and $3600 family. Plan pays just 80% its there best plan. Out of pocket maximum is $3200 ind and $9600 family.

2015 deductible $2250 ind $4500 family. Out of pocket maximum $4850 ind and $9700 family.

As you can see how any raise was never really a raise. Our insurance has been declining rapidly since 2012.
Individual deductible $250(2010) - $2250(15) that's a $2000 increase.

Out of pocket maximums $2000(12) - $4850(15) thats a $2850 increase for indiviuals.

Out of pocket maximums $6000(12) - $9700(15) thats a $3700 increase for families

2015 is so bad they didnt print any info on cards.
Its on a crash course to really effect people lives here. Its been admitted by a person from Corporate that they have a step plan from now until 2018 to continue to lower our coverage and increase deductibles.

Most of us have been thinking twice this year about getting any type of procedure, operation, etc. I guess thats what the Company want us to do. Sadly, many of us will not be able to opt to not have treatment or treat our chronic conditions.

Time to get on board folks! Sign a card and let's go already.

Hmmm that is very interesting facts posted above!! I believe this is the same info Tom was telling us for the past 6-8 years when the majority of people apparently thought he was out of his mind crazy? Seems he was far more ahead of the company divulging the truth to the reality!

The last portion of the previous post is a guarantee to the direction we are headed.........taking more from us in premiums, while covering increasingly less........yet telling us what a great plan we have, so be happy or go somewhere else to work!!!

Anonymous said...

Yep, Tom did know what he was taking about. Good post. With this new health care plan, we have all taken a big pay cut.

Shame on the company for trying to blame this change on the Affordable Care Act/Cadillac Tax. It did not have to be this way. UPS employees, our very own pilots - all have a contract and still have solid healthcare (and real pension.)

The company is making big $$$$ from this change - right off our very on backs.

Sign today and put an end to this BS.

Here's what it comes down to. When you are getting decent segments of overtime in the bigger cities, you offset the medical hit because you don't see a reduction on your paycheck!

Therefore those individuals have no impact of the severity to how much we have lost due to the continual yearly increases.....or reductions in our medical coverage?

Those of us that get almost no overtime ever, see first hand just how devastating this so-call "premium plan" truly is to the people forced to use it constantly throughout the year!

Let's turn this place on its head. It's time for everyone to join in.

Good to see your post. A bunch of us in MEM and LAX are working to get the word out. More help needed in IND.

Feeling good about our prospects in 2015.

Tom - hope you are doing well in Nashville.

Happy New Years everyone! We are looking for all of us to step back and look at how far we have fallen in terms of health and retirement benefits just in the last 7 years.

It's real and it's scary. Time to start looking behind your paycheck and look at the important things that will enable you to maintain healthy prosperous standard of living well into retirement.

Right now you are being bought, plain and simple, for mere crumbs while the company laughs all the way to bank with the money your sacrifices are providing it.

Say no to crumbs in 2015. It's time to get real guys and secure our future with something other than the BS we have been fed. Look where that has gotten us.

Good night and god bless.

We need to be contacted by someone. I have been trying to get in contact with anyone that is collecting cards. There are several AMT'S that will help, just give a point of contact. You don't have to put your name and number down on this website. Just contact previous supporters. Let's get this moving!

The Delta flight attendants filed their cards today with the NMB after a loss in 2010 and a subsequent 2 plus year grass roots movement similar in many ways to this one. Let's get this done guys!

Delta flight attendants call for a union vote
Ben Mutzabaugh, USA TODAY 3:28 p.m. EST

January 13, 2015

Flight attendants at Delta Air Lines may soon vote again on whether to unionize.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) says a drive to organize attendants at the Atlanta-based airline has netted enough signature cards to make an election request to the National Mediation Board (NMB). The IAM says it has delivered signed election request cards from about 12,000 of Delta's roughly 20,000 flight attendants to the NMB on Tuesday.

"This is an historic day for these courageous Flight Attendants," IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger says in a statement. "The IAM stands firmly behind the Delta Flight Attendants' effort to win a strong voice in their profession and stability in a volatile industry."

Delta remains one of the least-unionized of the big U.S. airlines. Its pilots are the only major workgroup to be represented by a union.

In its statement, the IAM says: "An election victory for the more than 20,000 Flight Attendants at Delta would be the largest ever transportation sector organizing win and would cap off more than two years of grassroots efforts by Delta Flight Attendants to gain union representation."

This is not the first attempt to unionize Delta's flight attendants. The most recent came in 2010 following the Delta-Northwest merger. Delta's attendants were not unionized while those at Northwest had been.

The Pioneer Press of St. Paul notes "the union lost that close 2010 vote, with 9,544 Delta flight attendants voting against unionization, and 9,216 voting for it. Organizers have been eager to try again, mounting a two-year effort to bring the matter up for another vote."

Delta's attendants also voted against unionizing in 2002 and 2008.

As for the latest effort, The Wall Street Journal writes Delta "said its attendants have enjoyed greater pay increases than their peers at other airlines since 2007 and have competitive benefits, flexible work rules and an industry-leading profit-sharing plan."

"While we respect our employees' right to decide whether unionization is best for them…our flight attendants deserve better than the IAM," Delta says in a statement to the Journal.

The IAM says it expects the National Media Board to order a representation election "within the next four to six weeks," according to a statement quoted by the Pioneer Press.

Received several more cards here on West Coast on Monday - people have had it with their managers, unrealistic expectations and hidden pay cuts (health care plan).

Our crappy pension and non-existent healthcare are going to hit us all in some way.

I don't know about you, but all of changes which have come our way in the last 8-9 yrs have been takeaways. With no contract in place, we have NO recourse.

This is going to change in 2015. My older and wiser brother is a FDX pilot and has been telling me for years that we need the protection of a contract.

A good number of us here at LAX (line and hangar) are ready to do this. Enough is enough.

Bravo to those leading the charge!

We need to accomplish this, management's true colors have shown the last 7 years. There is no other option but to vote yes. We will NEVER see respectable healthcare or retirement unless we stand together as a group. Corporate greed is driving the takeaway's no more no less.

We have become the WALMART of the aviation industry and FEDEX is banking that we as a work group do not have the intestinal fortitude to stand up for ourselves.

Even if by some chance they decide to patronize us and improve our benefits there is only one way to vote that being YES. Guarantee they will take what ever we have gained as soon as the IAM has thrown in the towel.

Please go to goiamfedex.org and do your part.

We are fortunate to have a credible organization help us take on a cause that needed attention years ago. It is now time for all of us to get fully behind this drive for your future. There will be a lot more to come on this in the weeks ahead.

As the economy continues to improve and FedEx continues benefit handsomely, we need to ensure that we have a contract and seat at the table to ensure we are rewarded for our hard work and that the big takeaways we have seen time and again are a thing of the past. (Don't let the crumbs like jumpseat privileges, make up raises/premium pay increases deter you from the the real items here: A REAL PENSION and REAL HEALTHCARE PLAN like our pilots have and mechanics at other airlines have.

Failing to act and get involved is telling FedEx management that you except high deductibles , high out of pocket maximums, high premiums that come with the catastrophic plan that is now our health plan.

Inaction tells Management that you are ok with a small match only to funds you contribute to a 401k. No monetary compensation if you don't participate. A joke of a minuscule "pension plan."

Control of your destiny is solely up to their discretion. We continue to be told to be satisfied with less year over year. Just look how our deductibles have risen. Ask yourself, wouldn't you want a say in your employment benefits?. Having a say in benefits , retirement, work rules in writing not subject to change at a moments notice. Your family counts on you to make smart decisions that effect yours and their future.

Failing to get involved is like giving up on them. Your family is worth every moment of FedEx unionizing. You are worth it. Get involved today!

In addition to the post just above this one, I will let you know that this is the direction we have chose to move forward............with the I.A.M! I'm not positive there is anyone else left?

Over the life of this quest, we have allowed AMFA, Teamsters and even attempted to go it alone.......and here we sit 8-10 years later, no better off, EXCEPT with less benefits and a vanishing retirement (expect a 401k only in the not too distant future)!!

You need to understand that NO organization is perfect and I know there are those that have a bitter taste left over from a past experience with I.A.M. but it was the same with all the other ones when they were at the helm of the ship!

There is no PERFECT solution to our problem..........but it beats the hell out of what we currently have, a WORTHLESS HANDBOOK that will always lean in favor of what mgmt wants to decide.

Get TERMINATED, and see who is sitting beside you to fight on your behalf...........not a fucking soul will be there to help you keep your career!! That's how the company wants it, because they can replace you with a new person that will NEVER see $50+/hour as a good percentage of us do now......?

So it totally lies in your hands of how we forget about the past and quit making excuses, because none of that matters at this point, as we are running out of options to join the pilots to obtain protection of a written contract.

Give I.A.M. a chance to prove they have learned from past mistakes and get involved to seek answers to our problems that are blatantly obvious in a lot of areas in AirOps!

Over the next week or so, some of the information on this site will be moved to www.goiamfedex.org and once that happens, you will automatically be redirected from here.

We are also looking for some of you to step up and be willing to be strategic contact persons scattered out to adequately get our mission info shared with every AMT. Contact Randy Sherwood @ chiefsherwood@aol.com so that he has your info as we establish this drive!

WE CAN DO THIS AND DEMAND OUR RESPECT BACK!!!
