LAST POST ON THIS WEBSITE, THIS IS TO CONFIRM THAT AFTER 9 YEARS NOTHING CHANGED

UNITED WE BARGAIN DIVIDED WE BEG

TO EVERYONE,
I HAVE TOLD EVERYONE THAT I WAS DONE OCTOBER 1ST 2014.
RANDY SHERWOOD HAD TAKEN OVER BUT HE IS HAVING SOME ISSUES THAT HE FEELS THIS MAY BE TO BLAME AND SAID HE CAN NOT DO IT ANYMORE.
THE FACT IS THAT AFTER 9 YEARS OF TRYING WE HAVE RECEIVED TO DATE CLOSE TO ONLY 600 CARDS ACCORDING TO RANDY. THIS WAS MORE THAN THE PREVIOUS YEAR WHICH WAS ALSO A DISMAL YEAR. I AM VERY SORRY TO ALL THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED OUR EFFORTS FOR SO MANY YEARS AND BELIEVED IN WHAT WE WERE DOING. SO MANY OF YOU HAVE TAKEN SO MUCH TIME YOUR LIVES TO TRY AND MAKE US HAVE THE SAME KIND OF BENEFITS THE PILOTS HAVE.
THE FACT IS WITH CLOSE TO 2500 AMT'S 600 CARDS IS NOT EVEN 1/2 TO WHAT WE NEEDED TO FILE JUST FOR CLASS AND CRAFT. I FEEL THIS EFFORT HAS NOT ONLY ALLOWED US TO RECEIVE MANY BENEFITS BACK WE MAY NOT HAVE OTHER WISE AND RAISES ALONG WITH THAT, MANY OTHERS WOULD THINK IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
WE WILL FIND OUT SINCE THIS IS OVER AND THERE WILL BE NOTHING STANDING IN BETWEEN THE MECHANICS AND THE COMPANY.
I COULD NEVER BE MORE SORRY FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE TRIED SO HARD TO BE PUT IN OUR OWN CLASS AND CRAFT.
IF YOU FEEL YOU WANT TO CONTINUE THIS ON AND STEP UP AND TAKE OVER CONTACT RANDY SHERWOOD AT CHIEFSHERWOOD@AOL.COM. HE HAS ALL THE CARDS THAT STARTED IN OCTOBER 1ST THAT ARE STILL GOOD TILL OCTOBER 1ST 2015. MAYBE YOU CAN GET THE OTHER 600 OR SO CARDS NEEDED TO GET TO FILE WITH THE NMB FOR CLASS AND CRAFT.
I AM DONE WITH IT AND I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE FOUGHT HARD WITH ME TO ACHIEVE THIS BUT AS IT IS WRITTEN YOU CAN DRAG A HORSE TO THE WATER BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE HIM DRINK.
I AM NOW NO MORE INVOLVED IN THIS EFFORT.

It's Official.....FedEx has succeeded to bust up our Class and Craft designation efforts, to gain "control" over AMT's seeking "Dignity and Respect" for the job we do!!!

Say GOODBYE to much more of what little we have left and I can see Mr. Hall and upper mgmt. throwing one hell of a party come Jan. 1st? Maybe they'll be kind enough to put it on the Tech Ops Connection with tons of pictures and brag about it!

As for other regions, just like they did out here in LAX earlier this year where we had to e-acknowledge "policy changes, etc." it has already started for guys down in FL including frontline management down there by the MD & Sr. Mgr.!

The harassment, threats and intimidation has already started by forcing them to sign specific physical documents to "acknowledge" they understand their job requirements!!

Mr. Hall....PLEASE don't promote that Sr. Mgr. to MD out here in LAX or we just might all QUIT on the spot......but it's obvious those types of people are what you are looking for!!

For the rest of AMT's in other regions/areas, get on your knees and thank God you don't have that guy to deal with and his wrath!!

I can only hope that my willingness to help those guys over on the East Coast, somehow exposes the kinds of treatment a lot of you will begin to see from mgmt. now that we have no voice and damn sure, no protection from these kinds of treatment........because HR supports/backs and condones this kind of abuse!!

Tom and Randy, if you haven't been able to wake up enough folks in 8 or 9 years of trying, you've made a wise choice to stop wasting your time!! Thanks for going the extra mile to stand up for 2500 of us, at least giving a few of us a platform to try and make a change for "good"?

YOU WIN FEDEX......MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Given that we need some help puttIng this large scale effort, a few of us recently contacted the IAM national organizing division. We were very impressed with what we heard.

The IAM folks want to hear from more of us. Anyone interested should contact them at eiither organize@iamaw.org or 301-967-4750.

The efforts of a very few here have secured authorization cards from over half of our craft or class. It's time to get the scale needed to make this thing a reality.

This thing is no where close to being over!

Thanks for the info. My bro has been with them for years and gives em a thumbs up.

Tom and Randy - excellent work. We can take what you have done and kick this thing up a notch.

To all the Management lurkers who frequent this site:

This drive is far from over. In the weeks and months to come we will be working to secure cards from 551 techs so that we can finally get a voice and the protection of a contract.

You cannot buy us off anymore. The big ticket takeaways are taking their toll. The harsh treatment and declining conditions at a time when FedEx and it's management team are raking in the $$.

We are more than half way there.

Chris

Maybe there might be some light at the end of that tunnel.

Billy,

You might have a point, valid of addressing, to boost this endeavor, based on the article! If this is to become a reality....in our work lifetime, a majority of AMT's in MEM "must be convinced of it's necessity"!

Therein lies the biggest obstacle of our quest......because the master puppeteers understand the effectiveness of showering the biggest nucleus with parties, awards, recognition, perks along with serious ass kissing and suck up, to convince them "FedEx Cares and would never turn it's back on us"??

While that kind of treatment happens in MEM, the little stations get very little of the "crumbs" or even a visit from those "high and mighty MD's & VP's) and unless you have a frontline manager that gives a shit about you......you get nothing in the way of recognition, a new piece of equipment, or basic tools to do your job a little better.....only threats you best do as you are told!

So even with Tom having been in MEM the entire time and 8+ years of trying to point out all the changes, takeaways and lost benefits, it has fallen on deaf ears and blind eyes, in spite of these facts screaming out with truth??

You get the numbers in MEM and your station(IND).....then this will stand a chance at succeeding!

From what I've witnessed, you've got one hell of a uphill fight on your hands......just ask Tom! Like he stated "You can lead a horse to water, but trying forcing him to drink"....you'll get your ass kicked.....or even accused of "a failed drug test and fighting to keep your job"!!!

All:

Big win for employees trying to organize themselves!!!!! On Thursday, the federal Labor Board said we can now use company e-mail to promote and discuss our efforts to organize our craft and class.

This will be good for the general blast messages to folks we have had a hard time reaching, etc. We will continue to use the private e-mail chain for committee members and steering teams.

Article below.

In a victory for unions, NLRB grants workers right to organize via company email

by Claire Zillman @clairezillman DECEMBER 11, 2014, 2:37 PM EST

The Labor Board on Thursday ruled that as long as workers have access to company email, they can use it to discuss workplace issues, including union organization.

In a decision aimed at bringing labor law up to speed with workplace technology, the National Labor Relations Board ruled on Thursday that workers can use an employer’s email system for union organization.

The NLRB’s ruling stemmed from a case that the Communications Workers of America union brought in 2012 after it came up short in its attempt to organize employees of Purple Communications Inc., in Rocklin, Calif., a company that provides interpreting services for the deaf and hard of hearing. The union argued that prohibiting Purple workers from using the company’s email system for non-business purposes and on behalf of organizations not associated with the company interfered with the CWA’s organizing efforts.

The company maintained that its email restrictions were aimed at cutting down on workplace distraction.

The CWA argued to the NLRB, a government agency that investigates unfair labor practices, that if an employer grants its workers access to a work email system, employees should be able to use it to discuss workplace issues, including those related to unionization.

In its ruling, the NLRB agreed with the CWA’s line of thinking. “Employee use of email for statutorily protected communications on nonworking time must presumptively be permitted by employers who have chosen to give employees access to their email systems,” the decision said. The three Democrats on the five-member board ruled in the workers’ favor; the two Republicans dissented.

At the crux of the case was a 2007 ruling by the NLRB that said workers do not have the right to use work email systems to communicate with one another about pay and workplace conditions. Thursday’s decision overturned the 2007 ruling, and the NLRB said that the earlier decision on this issue failed to protect workers’ right to organize and did not adequately consider the changing patterns of industrial life.

Billy P-

We'll be in touch. Strong support on both coasts; recent efforts to get more cards signed at these locations paying off. More guys are aware of this effort and the need to change up the current pathetic state we find ourselves in. New initiatives underway in MEM and IND.

That's all we can say here given that the company is monitoring this site regularly.

We hope everyone has a good holiday.

Yours in the bond. (YITB)

My manager told me yesterday that we had one of the best health care "packages" out there. What a f'ing joke. Do they really think we are that gullible and stupid? Guess so.

I out of pocket big time this year, and for years to come, over $10,000 under our new health care "package" due to my family's chronic conditions, Taking into account our high premiums and the over $10k I am going to have pay every year going forward, it does not take a rocket scientist to see what the company has done to us. Beware to those who have not been screwed yet. Anything more than a preventive visit is going to be coming out of your pocket on the front end.

Oh, and by the way, we actually have one of the absolute worst health plans of any airline in the country. Got some data that shows we are in cellar with a couple of other carriers. I believe Tom posted some data showing how bad our plan was last year but I was too stupid not to take the time to study it. I guess I believed I would not be impacted.

I was never really in favor of pursuing a contract or possibly getting a third party help us get a contract until this year. As others have mentioned, the takeaways (pension, MAP, healthcare, and so one) are taking toll and we must have the protection of a contract to put a stop to these takeaways. Right now we are all very vulnerable on many fronts.

Tom - I just saw your post. I want to thank you and Randy for all that you have done here. You told many of doubters in Memphis what was coming down the track. You were absolutely dead on, correct, Sir. Randy, what they are doing to you is deplorable on many levels.

We should all want the secure retirement, healthcare and working conditions our peers at UPS enjoy. To anyone who is on the fence, what is wrong with trying to secure these valuable benefits which over the years the company has seen fit to take from us, water down and then insult our intelligence by trying to tell us everything is just great.

To echo a previous posters comment, this effort is far from over. WitH more than half of us on board, its just beginning!

Thanks Tom and Randy for all that you have done. It has not gone unnoticed.

We will prevail with this!
